New Zealand Under 19s beat Papua New Guinea Under 19s by 133 runs at Gardens Oval, Darwin.

After reaching 259/9, the New Zealand Under 19 team put in an emphatic performance with the ball, bowling Papua New Guinea Under 19s out for 126 to win by 133 runs, in a friendly match, while they play in the Under 19s International Tri series in Darwin.

New Zealand used seven bowlers in all, and the wickets were evenly shared. Alec Hodgson took 3/17 from his six overs, while Kurtley Watson and Leo Carter picked up two each, with Nick Blundell, Jack Hunter and Dane Watson taking a wicket apiece.  
 
In the first innings, NZ Under 19s were in a little trouble at 59/5, but a 139 run partnership for the sixth wicket between Ken McClure (78) and Alec Hodgeson (71) steadied the ship. Nick Blundell was the the next top scorer with 28 from his 25 balls.

New Zealand Under 19s' next match will be against India Under 19s on Thursday 4 July.
