Spirit romp to nine wicket win

The Northern Spirit comfortably closed out their 50-over match against the Central Hinds, running out easy nine-wicket victors at Lincoln Green, Lincoln.

Victory was set up by a 162 run opening stand between Kerry-Anne Tomlinson and Natalie Dodd as the Spirit chased down the Hind’s total of 219 for eight with nearly seven overs to spare. 

Tomlinson laid the platform with 63 while a remarkable unbeaten 101 from Dodd helped seal with win, along with some late hitting from Anna Peterson who stuck 38 not out.

Dodd went to her century off 134 balls in an innings studded with 14 boundaries. 

Earlier, Sara McGlashan (66) and Rachel Priest (65) top scored with 66 and 65 respectively.

New ball bowler Felicity Leydon-Davis was the best of the Northern attack, taking three for 34 while Nicola Browne picked up two for 32.
