Munro blazes 18-ball 50

Auckland Aces opener Colin Munro lit up Bay Oval's first night-T20 international as the BLACKCAPS reached 102-4 after nine overs before rain washed out the match.

Scorecard

The final T20 is back at the Mount on the third although the forecast is not promising ... fingers crossed.

Munro-Mania
As he did against Bangladesh almost one year ago, the firebrand left-hander wound-up early and no where in the ground was safe. He belted 11 fours and three sixes in a whirlwind 66 off 23 balls for a 286 strike rate. His knock helped the BLACKCAPS reach 86-1 from their opening six over power-play.

Spark
Despite the ferocious BLACKCAPS start, the Windies were able to hang tough and chipped out three wickets in the space of three overs to halt the momentum. One of those wickets was a brilliant one-hand grab at mid-wicket by captain Carlos Brathwaite to dismiss Tom Bruce. Brilliant reactions and skill to stick out a hand and pull it in from almost behind him. A gun fielder for a big man!

Bay Oval was LIT
The weather may have spoiled a full-game, but Bay Oval certainly got a big tick in the venue's first international night hit-out. The punter's packed out the new extended bank and the lights shone bright - even if they were really only accentuating the rain-fall!
