The Wellington Blaze notched up another emphatic win in the second round of the Action Women's Twenty20 competition today.
After a first-up 48-run win over the Northern Spirit on Friday, the Blaze cruised to an eight-wicket win today after the Spirit won the toss and battled to 128 for nine off their 20 overs at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
Blaze all-rounder Sophie Devine picked up 3-27 as the Spirit struggled to build partnerships, with Anna Peterson's 32 the only innings of any substance.
The Blaze reached their target in 15.3 overs for the loss of only two wickets, opener Lucy Doolan unbeaten on 50 and Devine stroking six fours and a six in her 45 not out off 30 balls.
