Play on the final day of the first test between New Zealand and the West Indies has been abandoned without a ball being bowled.
A draw was the inevitable result at the University Oval in Dunedin as rain disrupted play throughout the match.
The game will be remembered for a few memorable milestones by individual players, including a maiden test century for lower order batsman, Jerome Taylor.
Taylor, who had a previous best of 31, set about dispatching the New Zealanders reaching a total of 106 which included 17 fours and three sixes.
His 153 run partnership with Shivnarine Chanderpaul for the eighth wicket crushed any hopes of a New Zealand victory.
It was captain Daniel Vettori who finally dismissed Taylor before going on to take six wickets, his 18th fifth wicket bag in tests and second against the West Indies.
New Zealand can take a lot of positives into the next match, including the solid performance of debutant Tim McIntosh.
The second and final test begins on Friday in Napier
